With five times World Motocross Champion Antonio Cairoli winning his 50th Grand Prix last weekend in Loket, Czech Republic, I had to think back to 2001 when 10 times World Motocross Champion Stefan Everts picked up his 50th GP win at the Namur circuit in Belgium.

In the history of the Grand Prix of Great Britain home riders haven't always had the success the British supporters might have hoped for. Sure in the 1950's and 60's many British riders controlled the British GP, and then of course the era of Graham Noyce and Dave Thorpe British fans enjoyed many great victories by home riders, but in recent years it's been thin pickings for the British riders.

Spanish rider Jonathan Barragan has not had the 2012 season he had hoped for. Once a GP winner and contender for the MX1 Championship this year has seen him drop out of the top ten and a Grand Prix victory is a long way off.

The AMA is pleased to announce the members of the U.S. team that will compete at the FIM Motocross of Nations Sept. 30-31 in Lommel, Belgium. The 2012 team will include Red Bull/KTM's Ryan Dungey, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett and GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia.
