Two of the greatest riders of all time Belgians Georges Jobe and Great Britain's Dave Thorpe have fought hard to win the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations. Due to the brilliance of Team USA in the 1980's and 90's it was only Jobe who was able to score an MXoN victory, and that was in 1980, the year before Team USA went on their 13 year winning streak.

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 25 September 2012 – The 66th edition of the FIM Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will be broadcasted LIVE and Delayed in High Definition for the first time in the history of the event. All the broadcasters will be able to broadcast all the Sunday action in HD, as well as MX-Life.tv, which will start broadcasting already on Saturday.

The sight for next weekend's Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, the Lommel circuit is a great rough sand circuit that has had several brilliant moments in the sport. Despite holding Grand Prix's in recent years, the circuit that rests in the middle of Belgium didn't have a big history with the FIM World Motocross Championships, holding just four Grand Prix's in the 1990s.

The KTM Racing Department with headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria, has confirmed that British rider Jake Nicholls, who has recently re-signed for the Nestaan JMRacing KTM team, will receive support in 2013 with engine material from KTM.

 Nicholls has just completed a great year with the Jacky Martens owned and managed team, a proven training ground for KTM’s future top riders.

The FIM Motocross of Nations has had many riders who have been fortunate enough to be involved in many winning teams. From American Jeff Ward and British rider Jeff Smith, who haves seven wins each in the teams event. How about the Belgian riders Roger De Coster and Stefan Everts who have six and five wins respectively, or David Bailey who took five wins in a row in the 1980s?.
