KIEV (Ukraine), 13. October 2012 – On qualifying races of the UEM motocross of European nations Slovenian’s riders were the best classified as Tim Gaiser won the EMX2 class and Irt and Gercar were in top five of their classes. Italian team with amazing Davide Guarneri obtained the second place and Estonian riders finished third. Even though Latvia had an advantage of balloting to choose the starting place for qualifying heats as the first, their team reached just the seventh place. In evening all 14 teams went to the city centre of Kiev to be presented to public crowd.

EMX1
Davide Guarneri won the qualifying race of the EMX1 class with superb authority. Armed with experiences from the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship as well as from Belgium and Italian national Championships, he managed to lead all time long. His result made the life easier for his Italian team’s colleagues as they could count on him and rode more relaxed.

Great performance Roman Morozov showed while stared fourth, and then supported by home Ukrainian crowd he overtook Gert Krestinov after several laps and in addition he was so motivated by noisy spectators that in steep downhill he passed Matevz Irt, too. Roman Morozov on the Yamaha bike reached the second place for the Team Ukraine A. Spectators were very happy about him so they were waving with the caps when he was arriving to the paddock.

The third place belongs to Estonian´s team member, Gert Krestinov on Honda. He did the second best time in free practise but in Qualifying race he saw the Morozov´s back most of the time. Since beginning he endangered Matevz Irt´s second place, afterward in one lap the order changed completely and Irt was sidelined to the fourth position by Morozov and Krestinov racing wheel on wheel and they left Irt far away behind on the fourth place.

The Polish rider who rode MX3 FIM Motocross World Championship Lukas Lonka closed top five ranking in EMX1 however he needed to keep an eye on Ukrainian Roman Morozov who followed him during the heat.

EMX2
Tim Gajser, current MX125 Junior World Champion on KTM, ruled EMX2 class during the whole qualifying race. Nobody could manage to reach leading position because 16 years old Slovenian took holeshot, rode unstoppable and it was pleasure for spectators to watch him making whips and scrubs. It´s not surprise that his ambitions for the next year are to ride the MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship.

The top five order in the EMX2 was same from the beginning till the end while riders had quite huge gaps between each other. Second place reached Team Estonia´s Park Andre on Honda whose ride was very consistent.

Exciting moment of the race came almost at the end of the qualifying race when Ukrainian Andriy Burenko went closer to third Italian Samuele Bernardini and in front of tribune he overcame him for a while. Crowd made standing ovation but their joy lasted just half lap when Bernardini took his revenge and gained the third position back.

Team Ukraine B´s Dmytro Asmanov was stably on the fifth position and made solid result on the home soil. Actually he finished behind his compatriot from another Ukrainian team, Andriy Burenko, because the Ukraine has built for the MXoEN two national teams.

EMX OPEN
Big competition for the first place appeared just few laps before chequered flag between Klemen Gercar and Evgeny Mikhaylov. Russian Mikhaylov took the holeshot but in a while Gercar sidelined him to the second position. It was demanding for both of them as they were riding very close and they entertained spectators a lot. Mikhaylov admitted that his tactic was to wait till Gercar got tired and then he moved in front so he did it and won qualifying race in the EMX OPEN class.

Klemen Gercar likes this kind of natural motocross track like this one in Kiev. It was obvious that it fits him as he kept the leading position most of the time during qualifying race. He was pushed from back by Mikhaylov and almost at the end he let him go forward to the first place.

Bucas Vytautas obtained the third place for the Team Lithuania as he was riding very self confident and compete for this place with Ukrainian Mykola Pashchynskiy. At the beginning, Pashchynskiy was ahead but after uphill jump next to the tribune Bucas took his place and stayed there till the end of the qualifying race.

The fourth place of Pashchynskiy from Team Ukraine A was endangered by Italian Manuel Monni for a while but afterwards Monni had a bad luck that´s why he entered the pit line in the middle of the Qualifying race because of broken frame of his KTM. The Team Italia will manage to let him racing on the extra bike tomorrow.

Ratsep Priil who was riding for the Estonian team completed top five riders of the EMX OPEN class.
