The MXGP riders change their bikes for a Tuk-Tuk

Today most of the MXGP riders visited the track at Si Racha where the second Grand Prix of the season will be hosted. Some of them had also the opportunity to ride a traditional Tuk-Tuk, which is the most common means of public transport in Thailand.

After making some warm up laps with the Tuk-Tuk, a two-lap race was organized and the riders were divided in four different groups. Kawasaki Racing Team’s Gautier Paulin was driving a Tuk-Tuk with his teammate Jeremy Van Horebeek and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jordi Tixier, while CLS MX1 Kawasaki Monster Energy Pro Circuit’s Tommy Searle was driving the second Tuk-Tuk with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings and a Monster Girl. Monster Energy Yamaha’s Mel Pocock drove the third Tuk-Tuk with his team mate Maxime Desprey and Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Livia Lancelot, and the last Tuk-Tuk was driven by Monster Energy Yamaha’s Steven Frossard, who had his teammates Christophe Charlier and Joel Roelants as co-pilots.

A Monster Girl marked the start of the race and Frossard’s Tuk-Tuk led most it, but in the end it was Pocock’s who arrived first at the finish line. Pete Thongchua, actor, racer, drifter and 2013 Yamaha Motorsport Brand Ambassador, joined the MXGP riders today and he is looking forward to watch them racing during the weekend.

All the riders had a great time together and they had loads of fun driving the Tuk-Tuk, but now it is time to focus on the MXPG of Thailand, which starts tomorrow with the free practice, pre-qualifying session and the qualifying races.
