With three Grand Prix victories to his name this year Frenchman Gautier Paulin is looking very solid and consistent. His victory in last weekend's Grand Prix of Italy was special for many reasons. Beating Italian legend Antonio Cairoli on his home turf and showing great respect to Cairoli and the huge crowd in attendance.

The country of Sweden has a long and very rich history with the FIM World Motocross Championships. In fact it was the Swedish riders who dominated the early days of the FIM World 500cc Championships, the first major series to be given World statue.

MAGGIORA (Italy), 16 June 2013 – The main races of the Grand Prix of Italy took place today at the emblematic track of Maggiora, which was packed with 38000 spectators. The crowd was outstanding and they supported their home riders until the very last lap. However, Antonio Cairoli finished third overall as Gautier Paulin conquered the podium and his teammate Ken De Dycker finished second. In the MX2 class Jeffrey Herlings was first and José Butrón second, but it was Alessandro Lupino’s third place that made the crowd go crazy.

The historic track of Maggiora was brought back to life this weekend to host round nine of the FIM Motocross MX1 and MX2 World Championships where Gautier Paulin and Jeffrey Herlings add yet another overall GP victory to their 2013 seasons.

Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsports announced at a press conference at the MXGP in Maggiora, Italy on Saturday that the KTM Racing Department has extended the factory management contract with Stefan Everts, the legendary "S72".
